It was time agin for our annual 40 Hours Devotion, early November, 2015. The Forty Hours Devotion is a kind of retreat experience for the entire parish. It's an opportunity to "unplug", to gather both individually and as a community before the Blessed Sacrament, to pray before the Lord, to deepen our appreciation of the importance of Him, to recognize His presence in our daily lives.
The number 40 calls to mind the rains during the time of Noah lasted 40 days and nights, Moses and the Jewish people in the desert for 40 years, and our Lord's 40 days of fasting and prayer be-fore beginning His public ministry. The Forty Hours Devotion also recalls that traditional "40-hour period" from our Lord's burial until the resurrection.
