In preparation for Christmas we celebrated the second week in Advent, followed by a quick visit and photos with Santa, live music and a few surprises ! Join us and look in on the fun !
Join us in thanks as we look in on our annual Thanksgiving Day Mass, November 24th, 2016, grateful for everyone and everything we have in our lives.
Ever been on a retreat ? The annual 40 Hours Devotion is a kind of parish retreat, Friday morning through Sunday afternoon, with a different priest retreat-leader each year. In addition to a yearly personal retreat, it's an opportunity for the whole parish community to re-examine our priorities in light of the Gospel. Have a look through the photos with us at the closing Vesper service, which concluded this special time together of renewal with the Lord.
We had a ministry social here at St. Joseph's on Sunday, Nov. 6th 2016, during the Coffee Sunday. This was a great opportunity to get to know who the people and the ministries are that care for the parish community. Have a look through our photos and see what's happening !
A special all Saints day Mass was for the parish celebrated on Sunday Nov. 6th (following the actual All Saints Day on Tues, Nov. 1st). Children of the parish bearing their favorite saints names were invited to come forward by Fr. Rafal, and everyone got a quiz ! It was great fun and a good faith exercise for the parish family. Have a look in on the happy faces and good company as we shared a delicious meal prepared by the Ladies of St. Joseph. The Ladies of St. Joseph are a newly-founded group which sponsor a variety of parish events, bringing people of our faith community together. Stay-tuned for more from this talented and hard working group !
Your weekly donations of bread and personal care items supporting the Cornerstone Shelter / Soup Kitchen in Rockville are an important part of the outreach ministry of St. Joseph parish. Two parishioners, Tom Wilk and Angela Atwater, serve on the board of the Cornerstone Foundation, can be seen in the photo, - Tom (back row left, looking toward us) and Angela, )front left with sunglasses). Tom each week, every Monday morning, delivers all of your donated items, which provide a much needed safety-net for all those in trying situations. Thank you all, especially as the Fall and Winter Seasons begin.
Look in as we bid farewell to Fr. Dominick as he leaves to begin his new ministry in Doylestown, PA.
The annual Mass for the Blessing of Backpacks, Coffee Sunday, and Fr. Bogdan's birthday all coincided on Oct. 2, 2016. Join in the fun and celebration through our photos ! The Blessing of Backpacks is a popular annual Mass for both the students and teachers in our parish community, a way to prayerfully begin the school year.

A bit of sadness on a sunny Sunday morning accompanyed us all as we gathered to bid a prayerful farewell to our Pastor, Fr. Krysz, as he begins his new assignment at the Pauline Monastery in PA. The six years went by rather too quickly ! Join us as we re-visit the day in our photo diary, God bless you Fr. Krysz !
On August 28th, after the 9:30 Mass, our parish will say farewell to our pastor Fr. Krzysztof Drybka. We all thank him for his tireless service and spiritual guidance and wish him well in his future ministry assignment.

The Trappist Cistercians, begun as a reform by St. Bernard of Clairvaux, are an order whose beginnings go back to St. Benedict (480-547 A.D).
