Fr. Lepak was pastor from 1949 to 1977. He was responsible for building the new church, adding on to the rectory and refacing it with brick to match the new church. The new church was one of the first in the area to be airconditioned in 1958. He purchased property next to the school on West St., and built the new convent building, now serving as the parish office.
After tearing down the old wooden convent, he planned and funded the building of the garage with a large meeting room and kitchen above. Students from over the years recall his daily visits to the classrooms cultivating rapport with the teachers and students, and was often on the playground during recess letting his dog run with the kids.
He would spend Holy Saturday driving to parish homes to bless Easter food often driven by the Trustees or men of the Holy Name or St. Michaels Societies.
Often times he would surprise new mothers with a visit and gift of a new Crucifix for their home.
Not having Eucharistic ministers at that time, he would be responsible for all home, nursing home and hospital visits, and in the 1950s could often be seen mowing the lawn and trimming hedges when the sacristan was busy.
